A woman’s natural radiance and essential beauty during pregnancy is a moment in time many wish to preserve. Internationally recognised photographer Jodi Shepherd and her professional team at Hot Shots Photography have been creating stunningly tasteful images for more than 16 years.
We understand that many women are a little hesitant to have their bellies photographed. Don’t let shyness, fear of the unknown and bashfulness get in the way of preserving treasured memories. Our professional staff know the perfect positioning, lighting and use of props in order to produce absolutely amazing, stylish, elegant and subtle images.
One of the most beautiful and loving ways to share your pregnancy with your husband, partner and other children is involving them in the photographic session. An image with those who also love the little treasure growing inside you is a perfect example of a ‘picture speaking a thousand words’.
If you have time, please also take a moment to browse through our maternity galleries as these demonstrate the uniqueness and variety of our photography.
If you would like to book a maternity session then please contact us on 02 6260 6255 or by completing the enquiry form on the contact us page. Should you have any other queries whatsoever we'd also be happy to hear from you. |

Maternity Photography Session Tips
- Best time to have your maternity shots taken is anywhere between the 36 – 39 week stage.
- Have plenty of ‘beauty’ sleep the night before…got to look your best!
- For pregnancy sessions, often the question is should I wear anything at all? It all depends on your comfort zone – we will leave it up to you and how you would feel most comfortable. Our studio has many different fabrics to consider as wraps or props.
- Simple tops that you can lift to show your belly look great.
- Jackets, cardigans or shirts that can be unbutton up to the top of the rib cage exposing the belly.
- Lycra tops that will show the shape of your belly.
- Sentimental jewellery, special props, close to the heart trinkets.
- Energy and a smile.
- Write down and bring on the day any questions you may have and all your ideas about what you want from this photographic session.
- You will be greeted by smiling staff that will take you through to studio.
- Your photographer will introduce themselves and discuss what type of look and images you want from this photographic session. They will discuss options, ideas and outfits with you so that your session runs nice and smoothly.
- When the photographic session commences all you need to remember is just listen to the photographer and they will direct you into all the right positions, lighting, where to look and when to smile. This part of your session will take approximately 1-1½ hours using all combinations, ideas, lighting, props, and backgrounds and positioning.
- The final stage of your session is the viewing. This is when you will be able to sit down watch a slide show of all the images taken during your session and then working with the photographer and/or their assistant to discuss your favourites and any orders.
